info session
On June 21st, we unveiled the second Edge Finance Accelerator. We share what we learned from Accelerator One and what we envision for the upcoming cohort. Our presentation is the first 22 minutes followed by a Q&A.
READY to make good trouble?
an invitation to inner, collective and revolutionary money moves
The Edge Finance Accelerator is a four-month immersion focused on how we transform finance and transition from the polycrisis to a regenerative and equitable economy. We will work at the intersection of learning and action—integrating the intelligences of our hands, head, and heart. You will have the opportunity to envision and prototype financial innovations through one of five Labs of your choosing, as well as develop your inner and interpersonal capacities for directing systems change in a time between worlds.
The Accelerator brings together 15 radical money movers working at the creative and transformative edges of philanthropy and investing. Finance Guides with deep expertise in the financial transition and Lab areas will accompany you on the journey. The curriculum is designed to uplift the wisdom and generative practices held within such an esteemed group of Edgewalkers, while inviting humility, novel experience, and more-than-human companions to help us navigate to a different economy and world.
The Accelerator is a refuge for you and your fellow Edgewalkers to explore making good trouble. Beginning with an in-person retreat in Northern California, the Accelerator is hybrid for these hybridized times of living and dying, quickening and easing, evolving and remembering. Our shared work is to align finance with its greatest potential for healing and transformation during the program and for our lives to follow.
THE GOODS
Together we can redirect the power of capital as medicine
The Accelerator is perhaps one of many new beginnings for you without prescriptive ends. It’s designed to be an experience that flows through you and the collective you’ll be travelling with these four months. By stepping into this journey with us, you will have the opportunity to:
Stay and grow at your uncomfortable edges with support from an extraordinary cohort of Edgewalkers, Guides, and the Host team
Envision and prototype innovative financial instruments & models in one of five thematic Lab areas
Learn from insightful practitioners disturbing the field of impact finance
Deepen your capacities for leadership in complex and uncertain times
Source wisdom and rekindle relationships with the more-than-human
Hospice old ways of thinking, doing, metabolizing, and directing
Recover, discover, and integrate new ways of being
Restore and heal yourself with new practices and community
OUR NOVEMBER RESIDENCE
The Accelerator begins with an all-inclusive 2.5 day in-person residence at Mandala Springs—a 200-acre wellness retreat center in the Mayacamas Mountains of Cobb, California, two hours north of San Francisco. It’s timed for those attending SOCAP to head north after the conference. There will be ample space for self, community-building, Accelerator immersion, and time on the land.
November 1-4, 2024
afternoon arrival, noon departure
Amenities include:
► Private rooms for everyone in 10 luxury cottages
► Dedicated indoor and outdoor gathering spaces for us
► Sustainably and locally sourced, organic, plant-based chef prepared meals

Your Host Team
We see our responsibility to create a space for you that is precisely what you need in ways that are perhaps unknown to you. A container capable of holding and metabolizing tensions, traumas, blind spots, and the entirety of the group's collective wisdom and abundant visions.

In-Person Residence
A 2.5-day gathering in Northern California where we’ll build our foundation through interpersonal relationships, intrapersonal creative and reflective practice, co-sensing the future of impact finance, experiential time on the land, and Lab theme immersions.
Workshops
Monthly 4-hour virtual workshops where time will be divided between your Lab workstreams and a complementary curriculum of inner and outer systems change work to enhance your knowledge and leadership capacities as a finance Edgewalker.
AsyncHRONOUS Un/Learning
Resource bundles delivered twice a month, consisting of media (e.g., podcasts, videos, art, rituals, readings) to aid your Lab’s understanding of the landscape of practice in your workstream, and to scaffold your engagement with the inner and outer systems change work.

SEATS AT THE TABLE
The $10,000 USD tuition covers the Host Team, Guides, materials, and operating expenses. Mandala Springs meals, lodging, and meeting spaces are included, but travel there is not.
Scholarships will be offered to the best of our ability for those unable to pay the full tuition amount. Requests for scholarships are in the application form.
-
You can find more details about the application process here. When you are ready to apply, please start your application here. The application will take approximately one hour to complete. While the formal deadline was August 1st, we are still accepting applications for the few remaining spots. We will review applications on a rolling basis and strive to give you a decision within a week. If you are selected, you will need to enroll within a week of acceptance and pay the deposit within two weeks to secure your spot.
-
Your tuition covers the entire four month program including accommodations and meals at Mandala Springs. You’ll be in charge of covering your own travel expenses.
Due to limited space and this being an intensive journey, there are no refunds. We will not be able to fill spaces part way through with new participants.
-
We’ve adapted the Accelerator Two to incorporate learning from our pilot:
In-person Residence: We added a 2.5 day in-person immersion at the beginning to create a necessary foundation of relationality, shared learning, and exploration.
Shorter Duration: We shortened the Accelerator from six to four months to create a more focused experience.
Smaller Cohort Size: We’ve limited the cohort size to 15 people to create deeper intimacy between the cohort members.
Upfront Lab Themes: We chose Lab themes up front to call in participants with shared alignment, expertise, and transformation desires.
Scholarships: We’re sourcing supplemental funding through donations to allow the cohort to be smaller and cover the real costs of the program.
-
The Accelerator is a parallel journey of inner and outer work in transforming finance. The inner leadership transformation will support your practical application of new innovations in the Lab.
-
While the Accelerator is intended to provide a container to support your whole person, we are not trauma informed practitioners. If something in the experience should trigger trauma we will do our best to support you in finding additional resources for healing and encourage you to self-resource as needed.
Members of the Host team will be available for one-to-one calls should you want coaching, additional support integrating the materials, or processing the journey. Additionally, we will have a care role explicit in all of our shared spaces.
-
We believe the new financial paradigm needs to be place specific as each place has a unique constellation of needs for capital flow. While you do not need to live on Turtle Island (North America), the majority of your finance activity should take place here. We intend to host future Accelerators in other geographies with various partners across the globe.
-
The Accelerator works best when you can dedicate time, energy, and heart to the synchronous and asynchronous aspects of the journey. We saw in Accelerator One generally this was easier for people whose work was directly aligned with their Lab project due to time scarcity and fewer competing commitments.
-
We ask that you apply only if you are prepared and have the capacity for the whole journey. Not only is the Accelerator designed to be progressive within content building on itself, it is also designed as a peer learning space where trust and deep relationships will be integral to the quality of the experience and the outcomes.
